"In this first and vivid tour of entrepreneurship in Egypt across nearly two centuries and backed with new and rich research State and Entrepreneurs in Egypt: Economic Development since 1805 provocatively underscores the great, natural entrepreneurial spirit deep in its wonderful culture." - Christopher Schroeder, CEO of Legi-Slate and author of Startup Rising: The Entrepreneurial Revolution Remaking the Middle East
"This book could enrich the conversation on the role of entrepreneurship in emerging economies, a fast-growing area of scholarship." - Shaker Zahra, Department Chair, Robert E. Buuck Chair of Entrepreneurship, University of Minnesota, USA
"'It can happen again' is the message of hope an Egyptian reader should take from the authors' convincing picture of the policy environment which created a flourishing, innovative, modern Egyptian economy during "La Belle Époque".
